Goals
- To host huge game day in Ohio
- To promote video game stores in Ohio
- To promote the OhioGamerz network
- To support the Child's Play video game charity
Overview
Video game stores and LAN Centers are a great place for teens to hang out, play games, and stay out of trouble. Many Ohio game stores have been struggling lately due to small turnouts at events, due to a poor economy and many teens not having extra money to spend.
Just a few days ago (5/30/10) another Ohio video game store closed. This may seem like something that doesn't effect most people, but studies show that approximately 50% of Americans play video games.
I want to help promote video game stores around Ohio by holding a major Ohio Game Day that will hold tournaments with huge prizes. The tournament will be free entry. It will be more than just a game tournament though, it will also be an open community event for others to come buy/sell/trade their games, and it will have promotions for all the local game stores.
I will also use some money to promote the OhioGamerz network, promote the event itself, and donate games to children in local Hospitals (childs play charity)
